a bit of good news.

On a personal note:

I just received notification that I have been accepted to appointment as a Board Member, on the Community Advisory Board for the Drug and Alcohol Certificate Program at City College Of San Francisco. This is the program that satisfies the state requirement for the Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor through the CAADE. I'm also an alumnus.

In many ways, it might not be that big a deal, but I'm going to try to do my best to make a difference in the areas that I feel are needed. This obviously has to do with meth addiction, and the many avenues that I feel are sometimes overlooked. One of the first things I want to concentrate on is having adequate training and resources available for counselors who are dealing with immediate families, loved ones, children of meth addicts, spouses, and extended families. IMHO, that is an area that is not addressed adequately in counselor training.

Additionally, I'm hoping this will be another good opportunity for networking and meeting people who share similar passions and professions.

I guess you might say I'm pretty pleased about the situation right now.

WOO HOO.
